the writers and director of edge of tomorrow did a better job making their movie hang together than hiroshi sakurazaka did with all you need is kill, the novel the movie is adapted from. given that american movie writers and directors have raised screwing up original material to a high art, that's very impressive.

maybe i'll post some spoiling comments on both when i have a few more working braincells.
