parties of one
Nov. 3rd, 2014 11:13 pmlooking a list of all the candidates on delaware ballots, i was surprised to see that the greens have put up nearly a full slate of candidates for the statewide races (senator, representative, AG, and treasurer, but not auditor) and the libertarians have almost as many (no treasurer candidate). both of the little parties are also contesting some local races. there's even a handful of independents running.
this is pretty odd for around here. usually, just the two big parties put up candidates, and the democrats casually take the two northern counties and the republicans equally casually take sussex county. there's rarely more than a handful of minor party candidates.
this got me wondering: is this happening just around here, or are the minor parties coming out to play everywhere? what are they up to in your neck of the woods?
