coincidence or concern?

twoeleveni took my trusty antique saturn in for repairs because it started vibrating rather a lot on the highway. the left front wheel bearing was shot. by itself this wouldn't have been of interest, 'cept that the garage gave me the parts for free -- just charged me for the labor -- because their two-year warranty on said bearing had just expired.
that seems a bit ... odd, since otherwise, there's nothing wrong with the car that its age won't explain. no major problems of any sort. so, is this something i should keep an eye on, or just write it off as a dodgy bearing?
