i went to an SF con but saw none of it
May. 25th, 2014 09:33 pmi went to balticon yesterday, but rather than doing typical paid-for connish things, i just hung out with people. i saw dr_pretentious@lj and monotreme@lj for the first time in over a year; i talked with them some, but they were mostly wrangling their low-fidelity genetic back-up modules and didn't have much time for adult conversation. dr. p was also working the con, having a new book in print. they did, however, bring along m, a family friend of the pretentious-monotremes who i hadn't seen in, um, over 25 years -- i think it was closer to 30.
i also bumped into radiotelescope@lj, who i hadn't seen in close to a decade. we think.
i spent most of my time with khazar7@lj and j, who i haven't seen in a few years. khazar7 also had yet another book out, which he was flogging to all and sundry. we had dinner at a place m recommended, the orchard market and cafe, and we all had this wonderful chicken in pomegranate-and-walnut-sauce stew. absolutely delicious.
