despite appearances, it's not an extraterrestrial or transdimensional invasion. nor is it an abstract art installation.¹ a vaguely-worded sign near it said that it's an entomological study of some sort being run by UDel.

1: my composition may have turned it into abstract art, though. or maybe surrealist art. i'm never sure about art.
