lighting the longest night
Dec. 22nd, 2021 12:09 ami have set off my annual winter solstice midnight fire fountain, as is my minhag wont. i found a winner, one called "spirit of the night". it had six different effects, some impressively large -- i found myself just within a display of fish, despite being a few yards from it¹ -- lasted a relatively long time², and was relatively cheap ($16).
1: i probably should have taken a step back. at the time, i was enthralled by the display.
2: 6 tubes x 20 sec/tube = 2 minutes, 6 x 30 sec = 3 minutes, but i didn't time it, not expecting much from it.
also, my local pricey pyrotechnics purveyor threw in a free thing, which appears to be a set of twelve miniature mortar tubes, each launching a different kind of tiny firework. since the description implies it makes a lot of noise, i'll set it off for new year's eve. (the one i set off this time was nearly silent.)
