i love the smell of forest fire in the morning...
it smells like global warming.
it's a wee bit smokey here. sometimes there's even wisps of smoke visible near the ground. the sky is usually just a grey-white sheet, and even things just a block a way are greyish from the haze.
fortunately, i'd bought a valved n100 mask a few years ago for chicon 8. it's meant for stripping lead paint.¹ it worked like a charm then, and works like a charm now. it is still hot to wear while mowing the lawn, though.
1: well, wearing while stripping lead paint; i'd prefer to use a bit more abrasive for stripping paint.

the doom went from smelling smoky one evening to the air being unwise to breathe by morning.
I am breathing in someone in Alberta's house right now.
urk. :(
as far as i know, this fire is just a forest fire, though it's possible some canadians have picked up american bad habits of building houses in fire zones.
