budless blueberry?
Apr. 26th, 2012 12:07 amthe smaller of the two blueberry bushes i got doesn't seem to have any buds. it looks like all the ends of its twigs are damaged. so, it's got five perfectly good leaves, but isn't growing. (the other one is growing like mad.)
i'm not entirely sure what to do about the poor thing. i expect that if it is, in fact, missing all the places it would usually grow, it'll eventually send up a new shoot; plants have robust feedback loops that keep 'em growing. OTOH, eventually could be a couple of years from now. so, anybody got any idea whether i should just keep waiting or whether i should just rip the bush out and plant another one? (option c, plant a new bush while leaving that one, takes time i don't have and probably space my garden lacks.)
