lake manyara national park

twoelevenlake manyara national park is one of the smaller parks in tanzania, but since it's pretty wet and forested, there are lots of animals hiding there. one just has to find them. without leaving the roads. no problem!
this next one isn't a great photo. i had to trade off exposure sensitivity (and loss of fine detail) to get an exposure fast enough that the bird moving around didn't just come out as a blur. also, it was shot through a dirty window, since we were in the part of the park where there are literal poo-flinging monkeys. (they also steal stuff and sometimes attack people, so the truck was buttoned up tight against them.)
however, i think the color justifies including it in the best photos list:
this came out wonderfully, despite a long exposure (1/80 of a second), heavy shade, and a mostly-black subject. only took 40 tries to get one that worked.
